August Wrap Up

Hello there! Another month coming to an end, another wrap up. I had a lot going on the past few weeks with not knowing what to do for my future (university and stuff) and it has been quite rough. Now I’ve made a small plan for the next year and am currently looking for a new job before starting University again in autumn 2018.

I’ve been to 2 Festivals this month and got to listen to amazing artists such as Imagine Dragons (my favourite band ever), The Prodigy, Flume, Mumford & Sons, Parov Stelar and so many more. I love festivals and I’m quite sad about this season already being over. (But I’ve already started making plans with my friends for next summer again :P)

I also went on a vacation for a week in Corfu, Greece. It was so amazingly relaxing and I quite miss it! I just love lying around the beach/pool the entire day and only getting up to play beach volleyball (where I hurt my hand on the 2nd day already and had to sit out playing until our last day) and go for a swim. What a dream!

I have a lot of plans for September and I really hope I’ll find a job some time soon!

BOOKS READ

1. Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
2. A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J Maas
3. Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh
4. The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
5. The Tales of Beedle The Bard by JK Rowling

As you can see I read a lot of books I really liked this month and I finally managed to read so many again! Since the beginning of the year I believe I haven't managed to read 5 books anymore. ACOMAF was by far my absolute favourite and it really surprised me how good it was! I'm currently working on all my reviews.

This month's theme for Of Wonderland Book Club was books in a series and as you can see I managed to read 4 books in a series which makes me pretty happy!

CURRENTLY READING

As you might know I’m participating in the #TheReadingQuest challenge and I took it upon me to give Glass Sword another chance after DNFing it earlier this year. Same as then, I’m not really enjoying it so I started listening to Anyone? at work, which is my first audiobook in like forever. Then two nights ago I had this really heavy urge to start Throne of Glass and I can’t stop reading it, it’s such an amazing book! If I didn’t have to work so much, I would just read it in one sitting throughout the entire night.

TV SERIES HIGHLIGHTS

SEASON 7 OF GAME OF THRONES HAS FINISHED. I can’t believe it. It went by so fast and it was SOOOO AMAZING! Seriously guys, I can’t believe how good this season was! Also, I watched the entire 3 seasons of Hit the Floor which upset me at first because it’s actually a series about cheerleader (not just about basketball as I thought, and I don’t like cheerleaders/cheerleading…) but it’s actually pretty good. But honestly, I only watched this series because of Jude and Zero. I nearly caught up with the entire season 7 of Modern Family. And I’ve been watching The Bold Type every week which is so good! I really recommend this one.

TV SERIES HIGHLIGHTS

The less I read, the more tv shows I watch. After I was done with all of my exams I fell in kind of a reading slump and started tons of new series instead. I finally finished the last season of Baby Daddy and I can’t believe this witty and fun show has come to its end. I watched the entire first season of Famous in Love in two days (don’t judge; I’m pretty sure you’ve all gone through such a phase too some time in your young adult life). And here’s my proudest achievement: I watched all six seasons of Game of Thrones in three weeks!! Hell yes, I finally caught up with all the episodes and got so obsessed with it. Now I have to patiently wait for every episode once a week. I don’t believe I could have done this for 6 years straight, the series is way too good for all that waiting! I also marathoned through Iron Fist which was good and started The Bold Type which I’m not-so-patiently waiting for the new episodes to come out. I really can’t deal with all the waiting. How do you guys handle that?

CINEMATIC HIGHLIGHTS

Finally I got to see Homecoming!! I love Tom Holland’s Spiderman and can’t wait for many many more movies with him in them. I’m really happy about finally having a witty, child-like Peter Parker.

March & April Belated Wrap Up

It’s been sooo long since my last post. And I am really not proud of myself because I wanted to keep this year posty and not be overwhelmed with university again. But well, guess what happened. I let myself be dragged into the whole uni-stress again.

Here we go, nonetheless. I’d like to share my wrap up of the past two months with you because I didn’t manage to post them at the correct time. I’ve read A LOT of great books and comics, although I don’t know where I actually found the time for it. As you’ll see with my ratings, I was really happy with everything I read, except for one book which I had to DNF for the time being.

Especially to all my NetGalley contacts (I feel like this isn’t the correct word to use, but I can’t come up with what I actually wanted to say right here), I want to extend a sincere apology! I promise to catch up with all my remaining reviews, because I really adored the books and comics I got to read, but didn’t have the time to post my reviews yet. But I really need to get on with writing down my thoughts for everyone to read because I’ve read some amazing stories that I need to tell you all about.

This month I’ll try to catch up with as many reviews as possible, though I don’t want to make too many promises because I’ve got my Finals in three weeks and I really need to study. Also, I’d love to tell you guys about other things going on in my life, or that have been bothering me and I really want to show you my impressions of this years’ Fantasy Basel - The Swiss Comic Con. So yeah, hopefully I can keep up with all my plans! :)

TV SERIES HIGHLIGHTS

So… what do you do when you’re under pressure and have tons of stuff to learn, study and memorize by heart? Bingo! You start binge watching new series :P

I finally started watching Prison Break and I was through with the first season in a blink of an eye. I calmed down a little after that but am currently totally obsessing over the second season. Before that however, I binge watched seasons 1 and 2 of Reign in a matter of days. I’ve watched it before, but got stuck somewhere in the middle of the second season and really needed to re-watch it again. Sadly, Netflix in my country doesn’t show the third season yet and I can barely wait for them to upload it.

I started watching 13 Reasons Why right when it came out and it BLEW MY MIND. I wasn’t emotionally ready for that. I still can’t get over it. This series really needs its own blog post, maybe someday I’ll have the time to write about it. And my currently 2 favourite on-going series are The Flash season 3 and Marvel’s Agents of Shield (or Hydra if you prefer the season 4B version). Both only have 2 episodes left until the season finale and I’m not ready for them to end for the summer! :0

CINEMATIC HIGHLIGHTS

I actually managed to only go twice to the movies' this past two months and both films were amazing! Guardians of the Galaxy was such a fun film and I just loved Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast. Have you seen these two, too?
